Anointing of the Sick (Sacraments)
Date: 11/01/2014
Location: Saint Anne's Church
Time: 8:30AM
The Sacrament is available to those who are ill, bringing God’s healing and strength. Anointing of the Sick is especially appropriate for anyone with serious illness, whether physical, emotional or spiritual, those who are being admitted to the hospital, or anyone who is elderly.
In this sacrament, Jesus asks, “Do you want to be healed?” Through this sacrament, God offers us the gift of peace. Please note that the Sacrament of Anointing is intended to bring healing to those who are sick and is not only the “last rites” for those who are dying.
The Sacrament of Anointing of the Sick is celebrated on the first Saturday of each month at the 8:30AM Mass. If a loved one is unable to come to church, please call the rectory to arrange for a home visit.

All Soul's Day (Worship)
Date: 11/02/2014
Location: Saint Anne's Church
Time: 10:00AM
Each year we celebrate a special Mass for all those who have died during the past year here at Saint Anne’s. Because All Souls’ Day falls on a Sunday this year, this special All Souls’ Day Mass will be celebrated at the 10:00AM Mass on Sunday, November 2nd.
If we think for just a moment, each of us in the parish will remember someone who has touched our lives and is no longer with us. Families who have lost a loved one buried from Saint Anne’s this past year are receiving an invitation to attend this liturgy. We also invite all parishioners to come to the Mass to gather in prayer with those families who have lost loved ones.
Sunday, November 2nd will begin the All Souls’ Novena, remembering our loved ones at Masses for the following nine days.

Vatican II - an Opportunity to Learn (Faith Formation)

Location: Saint John Vianney Room - Rectory
Time: 7:30PM - 9:00PM
AN OPPORTUNITY TO LEARN WHAT THE VATICAN COUNCIL DID AND WHAT IT MEANS FOR US IN TODAY’S CHURCH
Pope John XXIII’s announcement of the Second Vatican Council on January 29, 1959 came as a surprise to most of the Church! From 1962 – 1965 the bishops of the Church met in council sessions and produced documents that have come to shape the Church as we know it today. This spirit of Vatican II will continue to influence the church in the years to come.
As we celebrate the 50 years since the Council, Father Peter and Sister Judy are offering four evenings of study on the documents of the Council. We will explore the Constitutions on the Sacred Liturgy, the Church, the Church in the Modern World, and Divine Revelation. Through presentations, and video we will learn what led up to these documents, what the documents said, and what they mean for us today.
The sessions will be held on Thursdays, Oct. 30, Nov. 6, Nov. 13 and Nov. 20 from 7:30 – 9:00PM – St. John Vianney Room in the rectory. A suggested donation of $20 is asked to cover materials. Please call the rectory office, 352-5904 or email Sister Judy at srjudy@stannesgc.org to register or for more information.

Blessing of our new Sanctuary Lamp (Worship)
Date: 11/09/2014
Location: Saint Anne's Church
Time: 10:00AM
Our New Sanctuary Lamp
A new sanctuary lamp has been purchased for our Church. It will be on Sunday, November 9th at the 10:00 Mass and placed in the sanctuary near the tabernacle.
A sanctuary lamp is kept burning day and night wherever the Blessed Sacrament is reserved in Catholic churches or chapels. It is a sign of Christ, our light, and a reminder of his abiding love for us. It is also a reminder to the faithful to respond with loving adoration in return. Whenever you visit a church you can always tell where the Blessed Sacrament is kept because of the presence of the sanctuary lamp.

Catholic Campaign for Human Development and Home Missions (Alert Event)
Date: 11/23/2014
Location: Saint Anne's Church
Time: All weekend Masses
At all Masses during the weekend of November 22nd and 23rd, we will take up the Collection for the Catholic Campaign for Human Development (CCHD) which includes the Home Missions.
CCHD was founded 40 years ago by teh bishop of the United States when they realized that the lives of those in need would not improve until the systems and policies that keep people in poverty were changed. For 40 years, CCHD has funded community groups that seek justice and create lasting change.
Fight poverty in America. Defen human dignity. Give to the CCHD collection. Thank you!
