Mother's Day Gift Bag Collection (Parish Social Ministry)
Date: 04/05/2015 - 05/03/2015
Preparing for Mother's Day
Mother's Day is a time for families to honor their mothers. This special occasion gives us the opportunity to support young mothers who have chosen life for their babies despite overwhelming challenges in their own lives. We would like to provide the young women who are currently residing at Momma's House, Mother of Good Counsel Home and Bethany House with gift bags filled with special items for Mother's Day. Saint Anne's MOM's group also supports this project by providing gift bags to the soon-to-be moms living in Catholic Charities Regina Residence.
We plan to deliver 50 tote bags to these homes prior to Mother's Day. We have the bags, but now your help is needed in gathering the gift items to fill them!
The following items are most needed (All new, full size items please, no travel sizes):
Bath/Body Wash | Hand/Face | Toothbrushes/Toothpaste |
Shampoo | Coms/Brushes | Small boxes of candy |
Deodorant | Make-up | Socks |
Nail Polish/Manicure Kit | Jewelry | Nightgowns (all sizes) |
Please mark your donations "Mother's Day" and place them in the Loaves and Fishes closets in the Church lobby by Sunday, May 3rd. For additional information, please call the Parish Office at (516) 352-5904 or e-mail lindaleone@stannesgc.org.

Second Collection to Support Catholic School Education (Alert Event)
Date: 05/02/2015 - 05/03/2015
Location: Saint Anne's Church
Time: All weekend Masses
The second collection next weekend will benefit the elementary schools of the Diocese and the thousands of children whose lives are enriched by these schools every day.
Our schools provide a strong, quality Catholic education with high academic standards and where our faith is learned and lived. They are places where our Roman Catholic Faith is passed onto the next generation and provide our Diocese with a high profile expression of our common mission to evangelize. Everyone who passes by our buildings or who sees one of our children in uniform has to say to themselves that the Roman Catholic Faith is alive and relevant.
Your continued support for our elementary schools and for the Tomorrow’s Hope Foundation, the charity here on Long Island that provides tuition assistance to deserving families who desire a Catholic school education for their children, is critical to the schools’ success. Please be as generous as possible in next week’s special collection.

Respect Life - Baby Bottle Fundraiser (Alert Event)
Date: 05/09/2015 - 05/10/2015
Location: Saint Anne's Church
Time: All weekend Masses
Don’t Forget Your Baby Bottle!
On the weekend of May 9th and 10th, Saint Anne's will be hosting a Baby Bottle Fundraiser to benefit The Life Center of Long Island.
The Life Center is a crisis pregnancy center that counsels women and men who are experiencing an unplanned pregnancy. They provide maternity housing, medical care, referrals, cribs, car seats, diapers and ALL other baby items that are needed.
We are asking that you pick up a baby bottle and fill it with your change. Most importantly, we are asking you to recite the prayer on the bottle. The prayer attached to the bottle will enable the counselors at The Life Center to say just the right words a mother or father may need to hear. It especially opens a mother’s heart to accept the truth. We believe these prayers lead abortion-minded women to call The Life Center in the first place.
Let us pray with our whole heart for the lives of our unborn children.

Pentecost is the birthday of the Church, born with lots of wind, noise and fire! The Holy Spirit was poured out upon that small group of disciples and on that Pentecost, through them, so many in Jerusalem came to believe. The true gift of Pentecost was bringing people together. No matter what nationality or what language, all experienced the work of the Spirit. What a wonderful, blessed beginning!
The Holy Spirit brings the gifts of wisdom, understanding, right judgment, fortitude, knowledge, piety and wisdom and awe in God’s presence. Each community is given these gifts to be the Body of Christ and continue Jesus’ saving mission.
